Manchester United Preparing Mega Gareth Bale Deal
Reports from Spain’s OK Diario claim that Manchester United are trying to lure Gareth Bale back to England, with a massive £16m-a-year contract.
Manchester United are reportedly trying to sign the Real Madrid attacker, and are prepared to double his current wage package at Real Madrid.
Gareth Bale, who held the title of the most expensive footballer in the world for three years, has been linked with the Red Devils for the past few transfer windows. However, with the arrival of Jose Mourinho, it looks like the club’s persuasive powers have increased greatly.
The Spanish news outlet states that Manchester United will offer Bale a £16.7 million-a-year contract (after tax) in a bid to convince the Welshman to return to the Premier League.
Bale himself is believed to be keen on staying in the Spanish capital, but Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez, is unwilling to increase Bale’s current wage, so as to avoid causing problems in the dressing room, as one player would earn significantly more than other players who work equally hard.

However, Manchester United, are not shy to dip into the bank to sign players, as they showed this summer, when they completed a record-breaking move for Paul Pogba.
Gareth Bale moved to Real Madrid back in 2013 and has since played a crucial role in the Los Blancos squad, and even seems to be a fan-favorite, alongside Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Since his arrival in Spain, Bale has helped his club win the 2014 and 2016 UEFA Champions League trophies, as well as the 2014 Copa del Rey.
His contribution to the team has no doubt been crucial, but with the club unwilling to give the 27-year-old a pay-rise, we could see him return to the Premier League.
Bale’s current contract with Real Madrid runs out in 2019, which gives plenty of time for the club to sort this issue out with the player. However, Manchester United will certainly be keeping a close eye on the situation.
