Jorge Mendes has told Barcelona that Jose Mourinho has the upper hand in the battle for AS Monaco star Bernardo Silva.
According to Sport, Mourinho’s Manchester United have shown a keen interest in snapping up the 22-year-old. And the pair are in a perfect position, with both Mourinho and Silva being represented by Mendes.
Silva has become a hot property in Europe. The Portuguese youngster agonisingly missed out on a place in the Portugal national team for Euro 2016 after suffering a thigh injury in the last match of Ligue 1 last season.
Renato Sanches took his place, and stole the show with some fantastic performances for Portugal, who went on to win the tournament after beating France in extra time in the final of the tournament.

However, Silva, who has scored 20 goals in 97 appearances for Monaco, is determined to make up for lost time, and shone against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League clash at Wembley, scoring Monaco’s first of the night with a stunning strike.
His performances have caught the eye of United boss and compatriot Jose Mourinho, and he has also been watched by La Liga Giants Barcelona. But if reports in Catalan newspaper Sport are to be believed, Jorge Mendes has told the Catalan club that Mourinho is more likely to win a potential duel between the pair.
