Tuchel Considering Leaving Dortmund After Rift With Club Chief
Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel is considering leaving the club following a rift between him and the club’s chief talent spotter, according to reports from various news sources in Germany.
Thomas Tuchel took over as Borussia Dortmund’s new boss back in April 2015, replacing Jurgen Klopp at the helm. Since then, he has managed to drastically improve the squad, earning plaudits worldwide.
His team currently sits 3rd in the Bundesliga table, having scored an astonishing 16 goals in just 6 league games, all thanks to Tuchel’s attacking philosophy.
However, despite his impressive record with the German club, the 43-year-old may be on the verge of leaving, after falling out with the club’s chief talent spotter, Sven Mislintat.
Sven Mislintat is a very important figure at the club, and has been responsible for completing the best of Dortmund’s transfers from the recent seasons. He played a major role in bringing huge talents like Robert Lewandowski, Shinji Kagawa, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, amongst numerous others, to the Westfalenstadion.
Mislintat is also responsible for maintaining Dortmund’s status as a top team, as he was the one who spearheaded the club’s transfers this summer, and brought in big names like Marc Bartra, Sebastian Rode, Mario Gotze and Andre Schurrle, after having lost key players Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the same window.
Sven’s influence in Europe is an important asset to the club, and it was proven yet again this summer, when he managed to lure hot talent Ousmane Dembele away from the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Real Madrid, and delivered him to BVB.

The reason behind the fall out between Tuchel and Mislintat is reported to be the latter’s failure to bring Oliver Torres to Dortmund.
Torres was an important target for Tuchel, who believed the 21-year-old to be the perfect replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. But the youngster ended up moving to Porto on loan, leaving Tuchel frustrated.
And now, with Dortmund’s general manager Michael Zorc considering promoting Mislintat and making him the club’s ‘head of professional football’, Tuchel’s future at the club looks extremely bleak, unless the issues are sorted out.
Naturally, this news has alerted a lot of clubs from the Premier League, as they would love to have a man of Thomas Tuchel’s calibre managing their squads.
