The 25-year-old Dutchman suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty and looks a doubt for Liverpool’s upcoming clash against Manchester United.

Wijnaldum, who earned his 32nd Cap for the Dutch National side tonight, limped of World Cup qualifying match against France and was seen clutching his right hamstring.

The player fell to the ground just after the 60th-minute mark and was examined by the Dutch’s medical staff before being subbed off for Bas Dost.

Georginio faced Manchester United’s record summer signing Paul Pogba during the World Cup qualifying tie and United fans will be happy to see that their man left the game injury free, also scoring a goal in the first half.

Wijnaldum’s injury will worry Jürgen Klopp, who has to prepare a side to face Manchester United next Monday.

Klopp has so far played Wijnaldum in all of Liverpool’s 7 matches this season and was looking for him to command Liverpool’s midfield against Manchester United next week.

However, Wijnaldum isn’t the only Liverpool player currently suffering from injury problems.

Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren, and Adam Lallana have all been left out this International break as the players are recovering from various injuries.

With Wijnaldum a doubt for the Manchester United game next week, Klopp could opt for Emre Can to replace the Dutch midfielder, although Can has struggled to find playing time this season.

Emre Can is eager to break into Klopp’s starting lineup, earlier stating that he is hoping to get more playing time this season.

Jose Mourinho will be hoping to take the 3 points next Monday as most of his first-team players are fit and ready to be played.

Wayne Rooney remains a doubt for the match as the England and Manchester United skipper is set to continue his time on the sidelines having been out of form throughout the season.
