Italian legend Gianluca Zambrotta has revealed that he will try to bring star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Indian Super League.

Zambrotta is currently in charge of ISL club Delhi Dynamos. His team lies 4th in the league table at present, but since they have 2 more games in their hand as compared to the table toppers, Zambrotta and co. can easily climb up to the #1 spot if they win both their upcoming games.

The Delhi-based outfit has already made a strong start to the season, winning one game and drawing the other. However, coach Zambrotta will be looking to further strengthen the squad for next season, and has therefore, set Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic on his radar.

Zambrotta and Ibrahimovic are good friends, and they even played together at Juventus for two years, from 2004 to 2006. The famous fullback will now be looking to bring the former Sweden captain to Delhi, as per his latest comments.

Speaking to Indian Express, Zambrotta revealed: “Given his fan following in India, I think Zlatan would want to come and end his career here. On my end, I will definitely try and convince him to play for Delhi Dynamos.”

Ibrahimovic has professionally played in six different countries, for top clubs like Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, AC Milan, Paris Saint Germain, and now Manchester United. Therefore, it wouldn’t be too big a surprise to see the 35-year-old come to India once he feels he can no longer compete in the Premier League.

Top footballers like Marco Materazzi, Alessandro Del Piero, David Trezeguet, Robert Pires, Fredrik Ljungberg and Nicolas Anelka have already played in the Indian Super League, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic may prove to be the biggest addition to the franchise if he arrives next summer.
