DAVID DE GEA: 7

Was hardly tested by City, but remained alert throughout the game nonetheless.

ANTONIO VALENCIA: 6.5

Did his defensive duties, and was a threat on the attack as well. Picked up a Yellow Card in the first half, but was otherwise good enough.

DALEY BLIND: 6

Put in a much better performance than the one against Chelsea last Sunday. Was unstable at times, but did enough to ensure a clean sheet.

MARCOS ROJO: 8

Played one of his best games in a Manchester United shirt on the night. Made a crucial block to Iheanacho’s effort, and kept City from hitting a single shot on target.

LUKE SHAW: 6

Had trouble dealing with Jesus Navas in the first half, but recovered well and made some crucial blocks and interceptions after the break.

MICHAEL CARRICK: 7

Was composed throughout the game, and brought calmness to United’s midfield. Raced with Aguero in the second half, and won!

ANDER HERRERA: 7

Another passionate display from the Spaniard. Was one of the few Reds keen to press the City players.

PAUL POGBA: 6

Almost scored a goal, but ended up hitting the post thanks to Caballero’s fingertip save. Pulled off some tricks and flicks, but nothing great otherwise.

JUAN MATA: 8

Was always on the move, and made a great run to get into the box and score the only goal of the game. Another Man of the Match display.

MARCUS RASHFORD: 8

Was United’s biggest threat on the night, and consistently troubled City’s defenders with his pace and agility before getting subbed off.

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC: 6.5

Misplaced a few passes, but made up for them by making a few key ones. Provided the assist for Mata’s goal, but failed to convert a good chance.

SUBSTITUTES –

MORGAN SCHNEIDERLIN: 6

Did the job he was sent on to do, by covering the back 4 and ensuring United kept a clean sheet.

JESSE LINGARD: 5.5

Was industrious for the entire 10 minutes he played.
