Alaves 1-4 Real Madrid: Ronaldo Hits Back At Critics With A Hat-Trick As Los Blancos Run Riot
Real Madrid continued their unbeaten run in La Liga with a stunning 4-1 victory over Alaves.
The Los Blancos came into the game on the back of six wins and three draws. With cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid losing to Sevilla last week, Real needed to win to maintain the three-point lead at the top of the table. They did just that, as a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick and a lovely chip from Alvaro Morata secured the three points.
It wasn’t all easy pickings for the men in white though. Prior to the game, Alaves had not been beaten at home, and were intent on keeping that run going. With just seven minutes on the clock, they scored through Deyverson, who converted a cross from Theo Hernandez.
Having come under heavy scrutiny of late, with many dubbing this as his worst ever start to a season, Cristiano Ronaldo showed just why he is the favourite to win this year’s Ballon D’Or trophy.
With a quarter of an hour played, Gareth Bale took a free-kick which struck goalscorer Deyverson on the arm inside the area. The referee awarded a penalty, which Ronaldo gladly took. He made no mistake from the spot, cooly slotting the spot-kick beyond the reach of Fernando Pacheco to make it 1-1.

Ronaldo wasn’t done just yet though. 33 minutes into the clash, the Portuguese forward combined well with Benzema before unleashing a ferocious drive from outside the area that was aided by a slight deflection to make it 2-1 to the visitors.
Alvaro Morata sealed the game in the 82nd minute, converting a brilliant pass from Marcelo with a delightful chip over Pacheco.
In the 88th minute, Ronaldo added gloss to the scoreline by scoring his third and Madrid’s fourth, with a shot from inside the area.
