5 Star Delhi Dynamos Further Sink FC Goa
With all hopes of qualification already lost, FC Goa were playing for nothing but pride in their latest fixture against Delhi Dynamos in the 3rd edition of the Hero ISL.
However, Delhi had all to play for, and a win would have almost secured their place in the semi-finals for the second year running. And with the current form of both the teams, and added home advantage for the Dynamos, a win for Delhi was on the cards.
However, it was a match of two halves to say the least, as FC Goa took a surprise lead through Fulganco Cardozo, which was soon cut out by Delhi’s hitman in front of goal this season, Marcelinho, both in the first half.
Post half time was a completely different story. Delhi Dynamos came out all guns blazing, and with Marcelinho aiming to win the golden boot this year, it took the home side no longer than 15 minutes to hit the back of the net another 4 times.
FC Goa were rattled by this sudden all-out attack, and they had no reply to Delhi’s onslaught. With the match beyond the away team’s reach, both teams were just awaiting the final whistle.
Goa looked a side in sixes and sevens, and Delhi looked a side ready to put that many goals in beyond the Goan defence.
Delhi take a huge step towards qualification, while FC Goa have one last match left to salvage any sort of remaining pride. Marcelinho was the Hero of the match with a brilliant hattrick, and Delhi surely looked a team ready to fight for the title.
With the season coming towards its business end, this is the perfect time for Delhi to hit top form. Champion material, to say the least. 5-1 , the final score, Delhi Dynamos dominant throughout.
