West Brom have made an £18m bid for Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to reports.

Louis van Gaal brought in Schneiderlin from Southampton for £24m in the summer of 2014.

However, the 27-year-old France international has now fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under new boss Jose Mourinho, and hasn’t featured for United since November 19.

Amidst his troubled times at the Old Trafford club, West Brom have clearly expressed their interest in his services.

“I don’t want to say anymore other than confirm our bid. We have to be fair to Manchester United and the player,” said Tony Pulis.

Everton are also believed to be interested in signing the Frenchman when the transfer window opens next month.

Ronald Koeman has previously worked with Schneiderlin at Southampton, and will now look to bring the midfielder to Goodison Park.

Everton and West Brom are both level on points in the league, with the Baggies ahead in eighth place on goal difference.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Wednesday, Mourinho revealed how he feels uncomfortable for having failed to give some players a fair chance to prove themselves.

“I still have bad feelings towards myself as I didn’t give a real chance to everyone,” the Portuguese coach said. “There are some positions in our sport where we have over-booking.”

Schneiderlin, who began his career at Strasbourg in 2007 before joining the Saints a year later for £1.2m, played for United in the Community Shield win over Leicester at Wembley at the start of the season, but has failed to feature consistently since.
