Bayern Munich Face Competition For Nelson Semedo

Nelson Semedo, whose name when translated to english means ‘Without Fear’, is one of Portugal’s hottest prospects.

The right back has been under the radar of Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich, and has recently sparked interest at Old Trafford, with United reportedly asking Benfica president Vieira about his availability when he flew to Manchester to complete the move of Victor Lindelof to the Theatre of Dreams.

Despite Valencia being United’s number one right back this season and a shining star in their current squad, he is still a winger by instinct, which has led to defensive mistakes and frailties on his part. This just might force Mourinho to look for a player specialising in that position.

Valencia, 31, also has age as a disadvantage, opening the gates for a 23-year-old Semedo. Despite having a huge buyout clause of £54m Euros, the Red Devils will supposedly pay lesser for the young talent in their aim to bring him to Old Trafford.

Missing a large bit of last season through injury, Semedo still managed to gain one international cap for Portugal in their Euro 2016 winning campaign.

He rose to popularity and higher ranks at the age of 18 while playing for Sintrense in the lower leagues of Portuguese Football.

The starlet made his debut in 2015, and has gone on to impress one and all ever since. With beautiful game play and tireless runs up and down the flanks, and a recent sensational strike against Besiktas, he might just be the complete package United are looking for.
