Rio Ferdinand Hints A Return For Former Manchester United Star
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has hinted at a sensational return for Patrice Evra to Old Trafford.
Evra, who is currently in his third season with Juventus, is finding it difficult to get first team opportunities. Recently, there have also been some rumours linking Evra with a move back to Premier League clubs, including West Ham & Manchester United.
The 35-year-old left-back played for Manchester United from 2006 to 2014, and later moved to Italian side Juventus, after having enjoyed a glorious career at Old Trafford under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson. He has won all major trophies at Manchester United, and has also won Serie A title with Juventus.
Evra’s former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand has posted a picture on his instagram account, hinting at the Frenchman’s return. The pair played together at Old Trafford for eight seasons, winning five League titles and a Champions League together.
On Thursday, Ferdinand shared a picture along with Evra and wrote “Throwing it out there… @patrice.evra I’m hearing thru social media u coming home bro?!? Talk to me! #MUFC.”
The former England international’s hint on social media has almost confirmed Evra’s move away from Juventus. In addition, this has obviously caught the eyes of all Manchester United fans, and the recent rumours have been made much stronger now.
But Manchester United already have enough left-backs in the likes of Luke Shaw, Daley Blind, and Marcos Rojo, along with Matteo Darmian. It will be interesting to see if Jose Mourinho decides to buy a veteran player like Evra and replaces the current left-backs in the team.
