According to Goal, Juventus are planning to sign Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian in the next transfer window.

The reports from Italy suggest that Juventus are interested in bringing back the former Torino player to Serie A next season. The Italian champions are currently monitoring Darmian’s situation at Manchester United.

The 27-year-old fullback moved to England last season, but couldn’t satisfy the expectations at such a big club. Since his £13 million move to Old Trafford, Darmian has played 51 games for Manchester United across all competitions.

In addition to that, there are reports that Juventus left-back Patrice Evra is planning to return to Manchester United. The 35-year-old Frenchman has been left out of Juventus squad for Sunday’s clash with Bologna.

Alex Sandro has emerged as a perfect left-back for Max Allegri’s side. But they are yet to find a replacement on the other flank.

Darmian has become a backup option at Man United under Jose Mourinho, playing just 9 league matches this season. He lost his place at right-back because of Antonio Valencia’s excellent form in the same position. And even though Mourinho has chosen Darmian at left-back, the Italian doesn’t seem to have a long-term future at Manchester United.

Juventus will be looking to replace their veteran defenders Stephan Lichtsteiner, 32, Dani Alves, 33, Giorgio Chiellini, 32, and Andrea Barzagli, 35. It is understood that Juventus are looking for a player who can play as a right back or right wing-back.

According to latest rumours, both Inter Milan and Juventus are keen to bring Darmian back to Italy.
