Perez: Real Madrid Are Happy With Keylor Navas

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has denied his club’s interest in signing Manchester United superstar David De Gea.

De Gea has been linked with a return to the Spanish capital for quite some time now, and he even came extremely close to securing a move to Real back in the summer of 2015, but it broke down due to a fax machine malfunctioning during the final minutes of the deadline day.

The Spaniard has since committed his long-term future to the Old Trafford outfit, but the same speculation keeps on re-emerging ahead of every transfer window, and it has done so yet again, now that Real Madrid’s transfer ban has come to an end.

Amid all these rumours, De Gea recently cleared the fog surrounding his future, by telling AS:

“The future nobody knows. The future is the future. I’m very happy here (at Man United), it’s a great club. In England, football is enjoyed a lot.”

The 26-year-old was then specifically asked about a transfer to Real Madrid, to which he replied: “I’m not going to talk about that. I will not talk about that subject any more. I just have to keep focused on my club.”

And now, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has responded to these statements by the Spanish international, by claiming that Los Blancos are not at all interested in signing him – or any player, for that matter – at the moment and that someone is feeding Manchester United false information.

Perez told the media representatives (as per Goal): “Someone is messing around there with De Gea. We’re not going to deny everything that comes out about transfers.

“We won’t work on any signing until the end of the season. Everyone is really happy with Keylor Navas.”
