Jose Mourinho is reportedly looking to sign Brazilian forward Willian from Chelsea in the summer.

The 28-year old recently told StarSport that he had received an offer from Old Trafford in the summer of 2016.

StarSport reported that former Chelsea boss Mourinho will look to sign the pacey winger again during this summer. Willian was the only bright spot in Mourinho’s torrid last season at Chelsea, before the Portuguese was sacked.

But Antonio Conte has provided a fresh lease of life to Pedro who is clearly the first choice on the right side of attack. Willian admitted to being unhappy, saying

“No player likes to start the game at the bank.

“To be honest, I do not like it either. I like to be playing all the time.”

This certainly got the bells ringing at Manchester United. Willian will be more receptive to a switch to his former boss if he continues to play second fiddle.

How United will persuade one of their biggest rivals to sell to them, remains to be seen though. The Chelsea to United switch is not without precedent though. Only 2 seasons ago Juan Mata made the switch from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford.

Interestingly, Jose Mourinho was the Chelsea boss who approved the deal then. Mata was sold to United at £37m then, and Willian might as well be valued at £40m.

With Mkhitaryan also finding good form, Mourinho will have his task cut-out in convincing both Chelsea and Willian.
