German giants Bayern Munich have opened talks with Torino striker Andrea Belotti, according to reports.
Andrea Belotti has been in terrific form this season, having already bagged 19 goals and 5 assists in all competitions for the Serie A outfit. Moreover, his total goal tally of 17 in the Serie A puts him in the third place in the league’s top goalscorers list – behind Juventus’ Gonzalo Higuain and Roma’s Edin Dzeko (both joint-first with 18 goals).
Naturally, the 23-year-old’s goalscoring form has attracted interest from all across Europe, with powerhouses like Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich all rumored to be in the race for his signature.
With so many interested parties, coupled with the fact that the Italian forward is still very young of age, Torino have inserted a massive price tag worth £86 million in their starlet’s contract.
However, as per recent reports from The Sun, Bayern Munich are supposedly set to meet that enormous price tag to lure Belotti to the Allianz Arena. In fact, the Bavarians seem to have already opened talks with the striker’s representatives, thereby leapfrogging over other potential suitors in the pursuit for the youngster’s services.
Rumours from earlier this month dubbed Antonio Conte’s Chelsea as the frontrunners in the race for this Torino man, after Sky Italia reported that Blues’ director Michael Emenalo had traveled to Italy to seal a deal with the youngster.
However, with no further developments in that saga, Bayern currently remain the only club in contact with Belotti’s representatives.
