Luke Shaw Considering Leaving Manchester United

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw will consider leaving the club if he continues to get sidelined by Jose Mourinho, according to The Guardian

Despite having returned from injury and being match fit at present, Luke Shaw continues to get ignored by Jose Mourinho during team selection, and the fact that he has started a game for the Reds on just three occasions in the past four months seems quite bizarre in itself.

In fact, the youngster’s future at Old Trafford has been under serious doubt for quite some time now, not only due to his consistent injuries, but also because of Mourinho himself publicly criticizing the England international on numerous occasions.

When left out of Mourinho’s squad that traveled to France to face St Etienne in the second leg of their Europa League clash, the Portuguese shed some light on the reason behind Shaw’s omission, by stating: “He stayed behind in Manchester because I’m playing with Daley Blind, with Marcos Rojo, with Matteo Darmian, and all of them are playing the way I like a fullback to play.

“Luke has to wait for his chance and work better and better, knowing I give nothing for free. When I give something to the players, it’s expensive for them—it’s not cheap. They have to work hard every day, they have to play well, so he has to wait. And, at this moment, he’s behind the others.”

But with Blind and Darmian both struggling to deal with pacey wingers at left-back, Luke Shaw, like many other Manchester United supporters, continues to remain puzzled regarding his exclusion. And if this continues, the young Englishman will seriously considering leaving the Old Trafford outfit in search of regular game time.

The talented 21-year-old certainly isn’t short of suitors at the moment, with Premier League clubs Chelsea and West Ham currently rumored to be interested in signing him up if he becomes available in the market.
