Reuters / Andrew Boyers

Manchester United managed to secure a 0-1 victory on the night to win the tie 0-4 on aggregate and progress through to the Round of 16 stage of the UEFA Europa League.

Here’s how the Red Devils fared in the second leg of the tie:

SERGIO ROMERO – 6

The birthday boy didn’t have much to do on the night, but he did make a save or two to maintain the clean sheet.

ASHLEY YOUNG – 7

Played well on the night, both defensively and on the attack.

ERIC BAILLY – 7

Terrific on the night. Tackled early, and remained composed on the night. Unlucky to pick up a second yellow, but he will miss United’s next Europa League game nonetheless.

CHRIS SMALLING – 6

Rock at the back.

DALEY BLIND – 7

Did the job at LB. Passed well, and almost provided Zlatan Ibrahimovic with an easy assist.

MICHAEL CARRICK – 6

Calm and composed as usual before getting subbed off on the hour mark.

PAUL POGBA – 7

Very active and eager on the ball. Great vision and long passing as usual.

MAROUANE FELLAINI – 6

Made his physical presence known in the middle of the park, but didn’t provide much else apart from a shot that hit the side netting.

JUAN MATA – 8

Pulled the strings throughout the game, and his assist for Mkhitaryan’s goal was sublime.

HENRIKH MKHITARYAN – 7

Scored the early goal that killed off the tie, but was subbed off early due to hamstring problems.

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC – 6

Much more involved in the game, but failed to score past St Etienne this time around.

SUBSTITUTES:

MARCUS RASHFORD – 6

Replaced Mkhitaryan early in the game, and troubled the opposition defenders with his pace.

BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER – 6

Rare cameo for the German as he replaced Carrick in the middle of the park. Passed the ball well.

MARCOS ROJO – 5

Ensured the clean sheet.
