Ferdinand Urges Manchester United To Sign This Attacking Duo
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has revealed that Griezmann and Douglas Costa are some of the players he would wish to see at Old Trafford next season.
Ferdinand, writing for the Sunday Times, revealed six names he thinks Mourinho should bring to the club.
Manchester United have been continuously linked with Antoine Griezmann, with the Frenchman’s brother a long-time fan of the Red Devils.
He wrote, “I’d love to see Antoine Griezmann at Old Trafford. For four years running he’s scored 20-goals plus for Atletico Madrid in Spain and has genuine class and ability.”
Ferdinand also wrote that Brazilian winger Douglas Costa would be a key signing. “I admire Douglas Costa of Bayern Munich. He’s an electric player with pedigree who is not always in Bayern’s starting line-up and he’d be worth paying big money for.”
The duo would greatly help United’s attack. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been the club’s only consistent performer in that department this season. The Swede’s contract ends this season.
The former England international also added that the Red Devil’s midfield needed reinforcements. He picked out the names of Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko and Fabinho as possible signings. He also identified Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot and Atletico’s Saul Niguez as his preferred targets.
