Furious Ronaldo Used ‘F Word’ After Being Substituted Against Bilbao
Cristiano Ronaldo reacted furiously while he was substituted during Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory at Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
According to Spanish outlet Marca and AS, the Ballon d’Or winner was seen shouting “Why me? F*** off!” while his number came up on the board 18 minutes from time.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane decided to bring on Isco for Ronaldo shortly moments after Casemiro had put Los Blancos 2-1 up.
The Portuguese superstar’s reaction may actually have been tempted by the fact that Athletic Bilbao’s New San Mames stadium is one of the few La Liga grounds he hasn’t been able to score at.
And whoever saw the match also felt he had performed much better than Gareth Bale, who played the full 90 minutes.
Zidane’s decision to substitute Ronaldo instead of Bale was seemed even more confusing by the fact the Welshman was seen with bags of ice on both feet after the match.
Bale was also seen wearing the ice packs in a dressing photo posted on Instagram by Brazilian star Marcelo. However, after the match Zidane literally grew tired of being questioned about his decision to substitute Ronaldo and said: “Towards the end we wanted to have a bit more balance with a 4-4-2.
“Cristiano? He can come off from time to time and that’s that. He was happy with his game.”
Another Spanish website Don Balon say Real Madrid captain Ramos had a chat with Ronaldo at the final whistle. They believe the veteran defender asked Cristiano to quit the tantrums and focus on helping the club win the title.
And the Portuguese star has also agreed with Ramos and assured he will not react so angrily in future.
