Manchester United are reportedly going forward with their big guns to sign Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic by sending Jose Mourinho to Croatia.

Perisic is set to appear for Croatia against Ukraine in a World Cup qualifier in Zagreb and Mourinho is believed to be there to see through the Red Devils’ case, reports The Sun.

The Croatian is very versatile and can operate as a winger, second striker or attacking midfielder and even reported to have set his heart on a move to Old Trafford. He has been in really good form for Inter Milan this term scoring nine goals and assisting seven so far.

But it was his exciting form for Croatia at Euro 2016 that really caught the attention of a host of major sides. Perisic was terrific for the Croats before their last 16 exit to eventual winners Portugal, scoring a late winner against previous holders Spain in the group stages.

Chelsea and Liverpool have also shown interest to land the forward, leaving Mourinho with a tricky challenge to tempt him to Old Trafford. It was reported earlier this week that Liverpool were planning to make a £30m offer for the 28-year-old, although that seems unlikely to be enough.

Former Real Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic, who is now an agent, is rumoured to be looking after any impending deal with Perisic after he recently split with his management.

Mourinho’s relationship with Mijatovic could be key to secure a deal which is being linked with figures around £35m.

Perisic could become the first among a host of new faces at Manchester United this summer, with Antoine Griezmann and Romelu Lukaku both heavily linked with moves to the Old Trafford.
