Manchester United And Chelsea Chasing Juventus Star Claudio Marchisio
The latest name to join the Premier League rumour mill is Juventus’ Claudio Marchisio, with both Manchester United and Chelsea reported to be eyeing a summer move for the midfielder.
According to Tuttosport (via Football Italia), Antonio Conte is keen to be reunited with his compatriot, with whom he has worked for three years at Juventus and for a further two years while in charge of the Italian national team.
Meanwhile, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is on the hunt for a new central midfielder after letting Bastian Schweinsteiger leave for MLS side Chicago Fire.
The current Chelsea manager is believed to have recently spoken to Marchisio over the phone and if the Italian decides to leave the Bianconeri, Chelsea would be the most preferred of destinations. That means a huge transfer battle is now on the cards as Manchester United and Chelsea’s rivalry continues to deepen.

Joining Juve at the age of seven, Marchisio has appeared for his side 358 times. Despite having limited chances this term because of injury, the veteran still plays a key role in Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
Whether the midfielder would like a change of scenery after such a long spell in Turin remains to be seen, but Marchisio will be fully focused in the short term on seeing out what has so far been a successful season for Juventus.
His team are currently sitting eight points clear at the top of Serie A, and are preparing to face Barcelona in a tough test in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
