Manchester United may be forced to switch their summer attentions from Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann. This will compel Jose Mourinho to look at Romelu Lukaku and Kylian Mbappe more seriously.

Griezmann has for long been linked with United, with some speculation suggesting that he would move during the winter transfer window that just passed by. Fortunately for Atletico fans, that did not happen. The links, however, refuse to go away.

Recent developments may alter the situation, though. According to the Daily Mail, Griezmann has personally informed Atletico that he will want to stay one more season at the club. The Rojiblancos are shifting to a new stadium next season; That, along with financial troubles, and their star striker leaving, would put them in a very tight spot.

This comes as a great news, and Atletico won’t have to worry even if United end up meeting the Frenchman’s £85.7million buyout clause. This will also mean the Red Devils will have to look at alternatives, and high among that list would be Lukaku and Mbappe.

Lukaku has shone again this season in the Premier League, and will be a hot property during the summer. He would be a perfect replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Mourinho’s side. The Portuguese manager though, will have to fight it out with former club Chelsea for his signature.

Another name that United will be considering is Mbappe. The Monaco youngster has shone as a forward this season, leading his team to a great run in all competitions. With Martial not pleasing Mourinho enough, and Rooney set to leave, this could be the door through which the Frenchman enters England.
