Luke Shaw reportedly wants Mauricio Pochettino to sign him for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

Shaw has begun to fear for his career, after United boss Jose Mourinho launched a scathing public attack on him, according to The Sun.

Mourinho had dropped the defender from the 18-man squad against West Bromwich Albion during the weekend. On being questioned, the Portuguese questioned Shaw’s work ethic, by stating: “It’s difficult for him to be on the bench. Why? Because I cannot compare him with Ashley Young, with Darmian, with Blind.

“I cannot compare the way he trains, the way he way he commits, the focus, the ambition. I cannot compare. He is a long way behind.”

Following Mourinho’s comments, the out of favour Manchester United left-back is now believed to be desperate to leave Old Trafford, to join his former boss at Tottenham.

Luke Shaw blossomed under Pochettino while they were at Southampton, and this has given the 21-year old the belief that the current Spurs manager would sign him.

One more factor that might work in his favour is Danny Rose, who might make a move to Manchester City for £50m, leaving a huge hole in Spurs’ defense.

Even though Mourinho claimed he was way behind others, it must be noticed that his current options have not shone anytime this semester. Rojo, Young, Darmian, and Bind have been very inconsistent this season, and a replacement is probably needed.
