Real Madrid To Sell James Rodriguez For Just €35 Million

There is no denying the fact that Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez is going to be one of the hottest properties in the upcoming summer market. And the lack of game time and the trust Zinedine Zidane has shown on the Colombian has been the reason for his dwindling.

And now, Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague has claimed that the 25-year-old is wanted by two of the biggest English clubs, namely, Manchester United and Liverpool. James, who has only made 25 appearances in all competitions so far, has scored a mere six goals but has provided 13 assists.

Furthermore, even though he is one of the most gifted players in the sport, his style of play hasn’t left a mark on Zidane’s blueprint.

Balague was asked in a Sky Sports Q&A session that whether the Colombian would stay put at the Santiago Bernabeu or would leave, to which Balague replied:

“Real Madrid want to sell him and about €35m would do it.

“All the options remain on the table – Manchester United and Liverpool want him – but I just think United have the edge if it comes down to those two clubs. Jorge Mendes is his agent.

“But Italy is an option too. The only guaranteed thing at this stage is Real Madrid want him to go and he is considering his options.”

Manchester United certainly have the edge not just because of the stature, but also the availability of Jorge Mendes in the picture. The Portuguese footballing mastermind also represents Jose Mourinho and this is where the deal can be penned.

And United, on their part, would do a world of good with James at their disposal, as they are in a dire need of a young attacker. James, who can also play the number 10 role, would be a perfect replacement for Wayne Rooney, who is expected to leave the premises at the end of the season. Hence, there is no reason as to why United should not make a move.
