Manchester United were given a huge boost in the pursuit of Antoine Griezmann by the player himself, as per his recent interview.

Atletico Madrid are convinced that Griezmann will stay, and are ready to offer him a new bumper contract to tie him down at the club for long term.

However, the Frenchman has ended up dropping a summer transfer hint, as he revealed in an interview that he might soon be switching clubs in the future.

Speaking to a Spanish news outlet recently, Griezmann revealed that though he might be ready for a move, he will not be moving to Santiago Bernabeu right across town from the Vicente Calderon.

“I cannot say yes or no, otherwise I will be in the s—,” he stated.

“You never know what will happen in football but jumping from Atletico to Real, I do not think it is very feasible. Very, very few players have done that, so I think it is dead [the idea].”

The French star scored a late equalizer in the derby at the weekend, and he felt that it was better for him and the fans to get it out of the way that he is not interested in joining Real Madrid.

Griezmann added: “Eric Olhats, my sporting advisor, takes calls and speaks with me. We are happy to get these calls but for now, I am happy here and in a good mood.

“As I often say, I am here. When we speak about Real and Atletico, it is not good for the fans or the club. I continue to work hard, to enjoy my football and I am happy on the pitch as you saw today.”

Real Madrid want to replace Karim Benzema with the 25-year old this summer, but do you think Manchester United will come out on top instead and lure him away from the Spanish capital this summer?
