Chelsea To Make An Improved Offer For Torino’s Andrea Belotti
Chelsea are set to make an improved offer to sign Torino sensation Andrea Belotti, according to reports in Italy.
Andrea Belotti is currently enjoying a sensational season with Torino, and having bagged 24 Serie A goals already, the youngster is the league’s joint-top scorer alongside Roma superstar Edin Dzeko.
The 23-year-old’s performances have attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest powerhouses, with the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, along with Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester City rumoured to be interested in securing the player’s services come summer.
However, according to Tuttosport (via mediagol), English outfit Chelsea are one of the clear frontrunners in this transfer pursuit.
Antonio Conte’s men are very much on the verge of winning the Premier League title this season, but the Italian tactician is looking to further strengthen his squad, so as to prepare the Blues for next term’s UEFA Champions League campaign.

Chelsea are therefore looking to lure Andrea Belotti to the Stamford Bridge, so as to improve their strikeforce. In fact, the London-based outfit previously submitted an offer worth €60 million plus add-ons for the Italy international, but it was downright rejected by Torino, as the striker has a release clause worth €100m (£86m) in his current contract.
The Serie A club will instead be looking to milk out as big an offer for their prized asset as possible, according to Torino’s club chairman Urbano Cairo.
Cairo previously told Sky Sport Italia: “If you think back to when we inserted that clause, €100m seemed a crazy figure, but today it seems too low. If I were to do the clause now, I would put it at €150m. Just compare him to the goals Lionel Messi has scored, yet Belotti is younger so he’s worth more.”
The current Premier League table toppers are expected to return for Belotti with an improved offer, but whether they end up signing the Italian is another matter altogether, especially with Everton’s in-form frontman Romelu Lukaku also on their radar.
