Former United Full Back And Legend Comes To Shaw’s Rescue
Geoff Shreeves from Sky Sports was able to catch up with Luke Shaw in a one on one interview before United’s huge clash with Chelsea this Sunday, and the left back came out open and frank while speaking about the influences Jose Mourinho and Gary Neville have had on his career so far.
While he was not so dramatic when it came to Mourinho after the latter’s recent public comments about the flaws in Shaw’s training and performances, the player is far from unhappy with his coach and has nothing but determination to prove the boss wrong and use his abilities to prove his worth as a Manchester United and England professional.
Shaw further added, “Maybe he is just trying to give me a kick up the backside having seen the potential in me. I think he’s trying to release that and trying to push me as hard as he can because deep down he does believe in me”, while speaking about the manager and the relationship they maintain.
As the interview progressed, Shaw spoke open heartedly about the role former England and United legend Gary Neville, who was a full back in his days, has played in bringing about a change in the youngster as well.

The two had a good bond in England recently and phone call with Gary, who faced similar situations and made sacrifices to turn himself into a legend, was a step needed to guide Shaw in the right direction.
Neville had a lot of expertise to shower on the left back, some of which was quoted from Shaw to be, “He said deep down that I had to want to do this and want to be here. The chat I had with him has changed my complete mindset, coming from the experiences he’s been through at this club for many years.”
The player further proved his love for the Red Devils and his will to fight by saying, “I want to be playing in and winning the Champions League so I’m going to do whatever the manager tells me to do. I’m doing to give it my all because I want to be here.”
Shaw is one of the brightest prospects in the Premier League and England national team who everybody wants to see succeed and it ultimately boils down to his efforts and performances for things to head that way.
