Thibaut Courtois, the leading contender for the golden glove with 13 clean sheets so far, is set to miss Super Sunday’s encounter between his side Chelsea and the Red Devils, according to various sources.

While Manchester United have De Gea between the sticks, it will be a blow for Chelsea to be without their number 1 shot stopper as United will be seeking to score goals and avenge their 4-0 loss from the reverse fixture this season.

Het Laatste Nieuws journalist Kristof Terreur took to Twitter to reveal the keeper picked up an injury during training which has kept him from travelling with the Chelsea squad to Manchester.

With Chelsea under pressure to win the tie after Tottenham’s win last night which reduced the points difference between the top 2 to four, it keeps the title race that bit more interesting and the news that heavier as a blow.

Antonio Conte’s side do have an able replacement in Asmir Begovic.

However, absence of the Belgian keeper will certainly play on the minds of both teams involved, and with the home side in desperate need of a run of wins to secure a top 4 finish, the fixture promises to be that much more exciting.
