Antoine Griezmann has reached an agreement with Manchester United, and it is being reported that the five-year contract offer is worth £72.8 million.
Manchester United finally look all set to land their long term target Antoine Griezmann. According to reports from The Sun, the Atletico Madrid attacker has agreed a £280,000-per-week deal to join his countryman Paul Pogba at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho is ready to break the bank to land another world-class French talent in Griezmann. The Portuguese, who made the world record signing of Paul Pogba last summer, is not deterred by criticism towards mega money moves.
It is believed that Manchester United will trigger Griezmann’s colossal £89 million release clause to buy him out.
The £280,000-a-week contract will make the French international the second best paid footballer in Premier League, behind Pogba, who bags £290,000 every week. The total cost of Griezmann’s transfer, including buyout, wages, and bonuses, will rise up to a staggering £170 million.
Manchester United have also given an assurance to the striker that they will make other world class signings to bolster the team. Griezmann had his doubts to join the Red Devils without Champions League football, but the promise of bringing in top quality footballers seems to have done the trick for Mourinho.
United are also being linked with the likes of Bernardo Silva, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar for the upcoming transfer window.
