Jose Mourinho Reaches Agreement With Antoine Griezmann’s Representatives
If reports in the Spanish magazine Mundo Deportivo are to be believed, Jose Mourinho has already reached an agreement with Antoine Griezmann’s representatives over a transfer to Manchester United.
The report goes on to say that unless Griezmann has a change of heart, he will join United this summer, provided the Premier League club activates the £89 million release clause in the 26-year-old’s contract with Atletico Madrid.
There is no denying that the Frenchman has been strongly linked with the move to Old Trafford ever since his exploits for his country at Euro 2016 last summer.
Following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s devastating knee injury, which could rule him out for the majority of next season, and Wayne Rooney’s likely departure in the summer, Mourinho is desperate to sign Griezmann in a deal that could see the English giants break the world record transfer fee for the second year running.

But there have been occasional doubts about this headline transfer in the summer, as Manchester United’s Champions League hopes are still uncertain, and Griezmann is reportedly keen to be playing in Europe’s elite competition next season.
United currently sit sixth in the top flight, and look set to miss out on a top-four place. However, they could still qualify for the Champions League if they win the Europa League.
The Red Devils have also been linked with Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata, but Griezmann remains to be their top summer target. The French striker has been in splendid form this season, netting 25 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions.
The former Real Sociedad man could be a perfect addition to Manchester United, especially considering Mourinho is looking to create a team that can dominate Europe for years to come.
