Jose Mourinho has some big-name targets for the upcoming transfer window on his wish list, but the Portuguese is also looking at some young potential talents, and he has already agreed a deal for an Espanyol unknown.

The Red Devils managed to spend more than £100m on rebuilding their squad at the start of the season, but with bigger challenges lying ahead, the United boss is sure to spend big yet again. He is looking to improve almost every position in the squad, and has been monitoring some of the best players in world football.

However, reports from Spanish daily Sport claim that United have completed their first signing of the summer, and it is not a household name. Espanyol’s highly-rated young midfielder Arnau Puigmal has reportedly agreed on a deal with the Premier League club for a move this summer.

Voted as the Most Valuable Player in the recent Mediterranean International Cup, wherein he scored against Barcelona in the final, Puigmal is touted to be the next big thing in La Liga. The 16-year old wonder kid currently plays for Espanyol, and has received rave reviews for his performances in the domestic games.

A central midfielder by trade, he is regarded as a strong and confident ball player who is highly adept in retaining possession.

The reported agreement comprises of a lucrative contract for the youngster. and it is also suggested that Manchester United have a development plan to assist his eventual transition into a first-team player at Old Trafford. In fact, the Red Devils’ hierarchy believes the youngster is not too far away from a place in the senior side

It is understood that Mourinho wants to keep up with the ever-increasing quality across town in the state-of-the-art youth training complex at Manchester City.
