Portuguese Starlet Pedro Neto Being Chased By Europe’s Top Clubs

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the signature of in-demand Pedro Neto, after rejecting his trial a year ago.

Jose Mourinho, the current Manchester United manager, is known for spending big on top class talents in the transfer window, and he has also nurtured some young talents at various clubs in the past.

The Portuguese will look to find a similar balance at Old Trafford, and though he is looking at some world-class players for a move this summer, he will also be aware of the young talent cropping up all over Europe recently. In fact, he already has his eye on fellow compatriot and promising starlet, Pedro Neto.

Also monitored by Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester City, and Liverpool, Neto is a speedy striker who scored on his debut for the Braga senior side this season, after bagging insane number of goals in the reserves and the junior teams.

At just 17, he has already made a huge name for himself, and has attended trials at most of the teams mentioned above.

He was at Old Trafford the previous year, but his trial was not successful, and he was rejected. However, it is now understood that Mourinho is impressed enough to get him to the academy this summer.

Neto only signed his first pro contract recently, but that should not be a problem for Manchester United and the brand value they carry with them.

However, the biggest issue in this deal for United is the interest from AS Monaco, who are set to lose a number of players in the upcoming transfer window. With the French side able to offer more game time than the Red Devils, Neto might be tempted to shift to Ligue 1 for next season.

At the moment, however, Jose Mourinho is convinced that the young Portuguese will turn into a star of the future with Manchester United.
