Spurs are in discussion with Juventus right-back Dani Alves to lure him to London, but they face competition from Pep Guardiola, who is also interested in a reunion with the former Barcelona player.

Tottenham have some of the most exciting young players in the Premier League, yet they are missing a piece in their puzzle to win the league. Therefore, Mauricio Pochettino is looking to add some vital experience to his relatively young squad, by signing the Brazilian veteran.

Dani Alves is one of the most decorated footballers in the world, and Spurs see him as the perfect player to enhance the quality of their squad.

Tottenham have had two very promising seasons in the last two years under their Argentine coach. However, it clearly stands out that the squad lacks the edge, as defender Toby Alderweireld is the only player at Spurs to have won a title in his career. Even the manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is yet to win a trophy in his managerial career.

If there is one player who justifies the phrase “been there, done it all,” it’s Dani Alves, who has won 34 major titles, including 3 Champions League and 6 La Liga titles. Spurs are hoping to sign the Brazilian fullback to let his winner’s mentality rub onto their talented young players.

Mauricio Pochettino’s resolve to sign Dani Alves has only been strengthened by the situation of Kyle Walker, who seems to have fallen out with the Argentine. It is reported that Walker is looking for a move away from Tottenham, and there are numerous clubs in Premier League ready to double his wages.

Having lost an experienced fullback in Pablo Zabaleta, Manchester City are also interested in signing Dani Alves, and Pep Guardiola might ask his former apprentice to do him a favor by choosing Manchester City over Tottenham.
