Tottenham have been branded favourites to land Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro.

Spurs have been one of the most consistent clubs in the Premier League in the last couple of seasons, but apart from a place in the Champions League, they have nothing much to show for. They finished second in the recent PL season, and Pochettino is now ready to make some stellar signings to help them compete at the highest level.

While Harry Kane should remain their first choice striker, Spurs do not have an able backup, as Vincent Janssen and Heung Min-Son have not been as consistent. This has seen them look all over Europe for proper additions, and reports today suggest that Gameiro is the man Pochettino wants in his squad this summer.

Bookmakers BetVictor have now slashed the odds of Gameiro stealing a move to the White Hart Lane this summer.

It is understood that Atletico Madrid are ready to let go of Griezmann for a hefty price this summer, and are looking at Chelsea’s Diego Costa and Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette to replace him at the club. However, Gameiro is still adjudged as surplus to requirements, and is reportedly up for sale.

Spurs are at 4/1 to land the striker, ahead of Manchester United (6/1), Real Madrid and Barcelona (8/1), and Paris Saint-Germain (12/1) in the betting to sign the 30-year-old this summer.

With 16 goals and 7 assists to his name, the French international has been in terrific form this season, but is he the right man for Spurs?
