Antoine Griezmann To Stay At Atletico Madrid Following Their Transfer Ban
One cannot help but respect Antoine Griezmann and his love towards the sport and the club he plays for, as the French winger has come up with a decision that has surprised the world.
Being one of the hottest properties in the world right now, he has apparently decided to stay with the La Liga side until 2018 and bring an end to countless transfer rumours linking him to various major clubs across Europe, especially Manchester United.
The striker is set to commit his future to Atleti for another year, after The Court of Arbitration For Sport rejected their appeal over a transfer ban.
He confirmed his decision over an interview with Telefoot (via ESPN), where he said: “With the directors of the club, we have decided to stay.
“There is still a beautiful season to be done and we hope to get some new signings in January. It is a difficult moment for the club, for the players, and it would not be right to leave now. I have spoken with the directors.”
The La Liga side was heavily linked with bringing in Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon and Diego Costa from Chelsea in the summer, but the transfer ban now prevents any new player from joining Diego Simeone and his side.
Griezmann also went on Twitter to prove his love for Atleti as he uploaded a photo with the caption: “Now more than ever #Atleti #Alltogether”.
The forward is currently among the best in the world, and the ban might eventually be a good thing for the Spanish club, as it secures his services for another season to follow.
