Manchester City Interested In PSG’s Serge Aurier
Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola look to strengthen their back-line for the upcoming season, but as it appears, both the managers have found a common potential target.
Paris Saint-Germain’s star defender, Serge Aurier, is on the radar of both the clubs from Manchester. The 24-year-old has attracted attention from top European clubs because of his impressive play since joining the Ligue 1 side permanently in 2015.
Tutto Mercato Web states that a ‘derby’ is taking place between the two giants as they look to sign Aurier. The reports suggest that he’s one of City’s top defensive transfer targets for the upcoming transfer window. After Citizens’ recent exodus, the club has been linked with a multitude of defenders.
Manchester United gaffer Jose Mourinho is also in the market searching for new defenders ahead of the club’s return to Champions League next season, and the Ivorian defender has emerged as United’s second choice should they fail to sign their first choice target, Benfica full-back Nelson Semedo.
City are also reportedly said to be closing in on a deal for Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker. The deal’s worth is estimated to be worth £40 million, and Guardiola’s side are set to offer the English defender £100,000-a-week to switch to the Etihad.
