Mourinho Set To Let De Gea Leave For £22m In Exchange For Morata
Jose Mourinho is willing to let David de Gea join Real Madrid for as little as £22 million, provided the La Liga giants send Alvaro Morata the other way.
This is according to Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, who claimed that Morata would like to play in the Premier League. Chelsea and Manchester United are both said to be interested in signing the Spanish striker, but the former club is torn between signing either him, or former player Romelu Lukaku.
The 24-year-old is believed to be keen on leaving the Santiago Bernabeu outfit in the summer and should Real manage to sign De Gea, he could well be on his way to Old Trafford.
Los Blancos sold Morata to Juventus in the summer of 2014 and he became a massive hit with the Bianconeri, prompting the Spanish club to exercise the buy-back clause that was inserted into his contract when he made the move to Turin.

Since his return though, Morata has failed to nail down a regular starting spot, despite his incredible record in front of goal. He has made only 14 starts in La Liga and appeared from the bench in the Champions League final against his former club.
However, even though he has struggled for minutes on the pitch, the young striker has been in imperious form in front of goal, and managed to score a total of 20 goals for the club in the recently concluded season.
Mourinho, who gave Morata his Real Madrid debut, is in desperate need of a striker following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury. With the Portuguese boss remaining unconvinced about Anthony Martial, and Wayne Rooney set to bring an end to his 13-year association with the club, it leaves United with only Marcus Rashford up front.
Morata has always been determined to make it at the Madrid based club, and recently mentioned that it is his dream to remain at the club. However, Balague has now claimed that the striker is ‘looking for a way out’ and that Mourinho is willing to sell United no.1 De Gea in order to get the Spanish striker to the Theatre of Dreams.
Posting on his twitter page, Balague wrote: “Morata said last night his dream is to stay at Madrid… but he’s looking for a way out. Nothing from Milan at this point, MUFC want him.
