Ronaldo To Bayern Rumours Belong To The Realms Of Fantasy, Claims Club Chief
Bayern Munich have labelled rumours linking the club to Cristiano Ronaldo as ‘hoax of the day’.
Ronaldo has recently been accused of defrauding the tax authorities of around £12 million. The Portuguese star and his agent have strongly denied these allegations, and have maintained the player’s innocence.
However, the entire situation has infuriated Ronaldo, and he has threatened Real Madrid by claiming that he will leave Spain if the issue can’t be resolved.
Since his desire to leave the Santiago Bernabeu became evident, the 32-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs, such as his former employers Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
Moreover, Bayern Munich also had their name thrown into the mix, but the Bundesliga champions decided to quash any sort of rumours claiming they were keen on signing him.
The German giants referred to the rumours suggesting that Ronaldo could move to the Allianz Arena as the ‘hoax of the day,’ and confirmed that they had no interest in signing the four-time Ballon D’Or winner.
Bayern Munich chief Karl Heinz Rummenigge responded to the speculation saying: “We’re used to being the subject of intense transfer speculation during transfer windows.
“Normally we don’t comment on rumours, but in this case, we would like to make our position on Cristiano Ronaldo absolutely clear: This rumour is completely unfounded and must be consigned to the realms of fantasy.”
