Speculation regarding Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski’s future has taken a new turn, after the Polish striker ignited more rumours by posting a cryptic message on social media.

Lewandowski, who was reported to be unhappy with the club and his teammates after having missed out on the Bundesliga’s golden boot award last season, has seemingly become a major target for Chelsea and Manchester United, as both Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho look to bolster their front-line ahead of next campaign.

However, any deal regarding the highly-rated striker has been dismissed by the German giants, insisting that Lewandowski won’t be leaving the Allianz Arena this summer.

The Bundesliga Champions stated: “Robert Lewandowski has a contract with FC Bayern, which he recently extended to 2021. Bayern are not thinking about any move for Lewandowski.

“There are no talks with other clubs, and there will not be. If other clubs negotiate with a player who still has a long-term contract, they risk punishment from FIFA. The player’s agent also assured us that he did not hold talks with any other club.”

But the reason that sent the complete Premier League and Bundesliga fan-base into pondering mode was the message that the 28-year-old posted on his Twitter account.

The message was written in Polish, which roughly translates to: ‘Sometimes you need to read between the lines.’

Though the tweet was deleted by the star very quickly, the damage had already been done by then, as some eagle-eyed fans were able to capture the message.
