Manchester United star Paul Pogba wishes his international teammate Antoine Griezmann happiness, even if that meant that the latter joined arch-rivals Manchester City.

The United midfielder told Telefoot that he won’t mind Griezmann moving to the Etihad, and can handle it as long as his close friend is happy.

Pogba was quoted as saying: “Griezmann? I wish for his happiness. If that is at Atletico, at City, I will handle it. He is one of the best players in the world.

“If Zlatan is happy elsewhere, then I am happy for him.”

Griezmann had been United’s prime target for the summer before Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban, and had been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.

However, due to rejection of Atletico’s appeal against the ban, Jose Mourinho is keen on signing Alvaro Morata as his main striker, with Griezmann set to stay at the Vicente Calderón.

The 24-year-old further talked about United’s targets for the upcoming season, and about fulfilling last season’s objectives.

“For my first season we got three trophies and a place in the Champions League which was the main objective. I’m going to the Champions League, that’s what I wanted,” said the Frenchman.

“Next year, the objective is the Premier League. There is also the Champions League and we will have to give that proper attention.”
