OFFICIAL: Chelsea Legend John Terry Joins Aston Villa
Aston Villa have announced the signing of former Chelsea captain John Terry.
John Terry joins the Championship side on a one-year deal, following his exit from Stamford Bridge after 22 years.
The five-time Premier League winner, who was also wanted by several clubs in England’s top division, will reportedly earn around £60,000 a week at Villa Park.
Upon joining, the 36-year-old said: “It’s a club I have admired from afar for many years.
“There are fantastic facilities at Bodymoor Heath, Villa Park is one of the finest stadiums in the country and there’s a good group of players here, with an experienced and successful manager in Steve Bruce.
“I can’t wait to get started now and look to help the squad achieve something special this season.”
However, more than the signing, fans are talking about Aston Villa’s strange way of announcing the deal.

lads we have so many questions
— LateTackleMagazine (@LateTackle) July 3, 2017
Why is Bruce & Xia’s primary form of communication regarding transfers a WhatsApp group containing all current and former players?
— LateTackleMagazine (@LateTackle) July 3, 2017
Why are Martin Laursen, Olof Mellberg and Paul McGrath in this group despite pre-dating WhatsApp?
— LateTackleMagazine (@LateTackle) July 3, 2017
Why are ML, OM and PM all still in this group despite not being Villa-relevant since 2009?
— LateTackleMagazine (@LateTackle) July 3, 2017
Who else is in this group? Jordan Veretout? Joleon Lescott? Steve Staunton? Ashley Young? Jlloyd Samuel? Juan Pablo Angel? Tony Dorigo?
