What’s the story?

Former Tottenham flop and Brazilian midfielder Paulinho has surprised the world by emerging as a target for Spanish side Barcelona, and what started as a rumour is now slowly turning into something serious.

According to reports in the Daily Mailthe player’s current side, Guangzhou Evergrande, have rejected a £17m bid from the La Liga side as they stick with their intention of not letting the player go.

Should the deal take place?

After a poor time in England, and being heavily criticised for going to the World Cup with Brazil, Paulinho has finally managed to leave all of that behind him and turn into a player capable of fitting into the biggest stages of them all. He has turned into in an in-form midfielder yet again, and this purple patch has helped him gain interests from one of the biggest and best teams in world football at the moment.

If the possibility of a deal exists, the player should grab it with both hands without second thought.

Possibility of it happening

If the interest is genuine, Barcelona will return to China with a bigger bid and make it hard for Guangzhou to resist. Hence, the chances of Paulinho leaving for Spain are currently 7/10.

2. Fabian Delph To Stoke City

What’s the story?

The highlight of Delph’s Manchester City career so far is without doubt, the stick he received for making the move from Aston Villa two seasons ago. And after 24 months not worth mentioning at the Etihad, he could well be on the move in this year’s transfer window.

If the Telegraph‘s reports are assumed to be accurate, the player could be heading to a fellow Premier League side, as Stoke City take interest in his services.

Should the deal take place?

The player has been made available by Pep Guardiola, and that is enough information to prove that he is no longer wanted in Manchester. With Mark Hughes putting a bid of £12 million on the table for the midfielder, a move right now can be vital in helping him revive his falling career.

Possibility of it happening

The chances of it happening are currently 7/10.

3. Arda Turan To Stay At Barcelona

What’s the story?

Barcelona midfielder and fallen Turkish hero, Arda Turan, is all set to stay at Camp Nou this summer, and despite being way down in the preferred charts, he is adamant to fight for his place and turn things around. The midfielder has been linked with various clubs, including Arsenal, in the window so far, and according to his agent, Ahmet Bulut, he is not heading anywhere.

Should the deal take place?

The charismatic attacking midfielder could only start 14 La Liga games for the Catalan club last season due to adductor and abductor injuries. However, he did manage to score 14 goals in 30 appearances throughout, which included a hat-trick in the Champions League. Turan has had a year to forget, which was topped with immediate retirement from International football after a bust-up with journalists while on duty with Turkey.

Given his abilities and the talent he possesses, impressing new man Ernesto Valverde might not be the toughest thing to do, and hence, him staying can prove to be a wise decision after all.

Possibility of it happening

While speaking to the media, his agent clearly stated: “Arda will stay at Barca. He has three years remaining on his contract. He will join the training camp due to start on July 12. There is nothing new regarding this.”  Thus, the chances of him staying are currently 8/10.

4. Diego Costa To Atletico Madrid

What’s the story?

As Diego Costa prepares to leave Stamford Bridge after being deemed as surplus to requirements by Antonio Conte, Atletico Madrid on the other hand, prepare an opening bid to welcome back their departed striker.

The Telegraph has reported that the Spanish international has already started saying goodbye to his Chelsea teammates.

Should the deal take place?

Things can, however, get a little complicated, as The Blues struggle to find an out-and-out-striker to replace their hitman, and if the deal with Romelu Lukaku does not eventually work out, the Italian boss might have some serious convincing to do. The player will only be allowed to leave the squad before 12th July, if Atleti produce a fine enough offer to take him away.

Given the harshness of being told to leave on text, it seems fair that heading for the exit is the choice Costa is making.

Possibility of it happening

The possibility of him going to the La Liga are currently 9.5/10.
