Chelsea have announced the signing of Antonio Rudiger from Serie A side A.S. Roma.

After missing out on Romelu Lukaku and making just one signing in the form of free agent Willy Caballero, Chelsea director Michael Emenalo has finally delivered.

The Premier League Champions have signed German international Rudiger on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The defender, who will wear the No.2 shirt for the Blues, stated: ‘It’s a great feeling because not every player has the opportunity to join a huge club like this.

‘I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and I’m very proud to officially become a Chelsea player.’
