Lukaku Replacement: Everton Interested In Palace Star Christian Benteke
Everton are enjoying a summer of early recruitments, and the Premier League club is ready to continue its spending with a move for Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke.
According to Sky Sports, Everton manager Ronald Koeman wants to add another striker to his squad with an eye for goals, and the name of Christian Benteke has come up. The Belgian is said to be seeking a move away from Selhurst Park and prove his mettle at a bigger club.
The Merseyside club has already signed forwards Sandro Ramirez and legendary Wayne Rooney this summer to bolster their attack, following the exit of star player Romelu Lukaku.
The big Belgian forward joined Manchester United as their marquee signing this summer, as he eyes titles after proving himself on the big stage.
Reports claim that Benteke was unhappy towards the end of the season, and is looking for a new club after the exit of manager Sam Allardyce.
The striker cost Palace a club-record fee of £27m after he joined from Liverpool, and the Eagles will be looking to keep hold of their prized asset, as they look to seal another season in the Premier League.
Benteke scored 17 goals for the club last term, and Koeman wants to be assured of his striking options ahead of the upcoming season. The Toffees have signed a host of players this season, and have already taken their spending spree past the £100m mark, but a bid for Benteke is expected in the coming days nonetheless.
