Manchester United To Offer Ander Herrera A Contract Extension
Manchester United may soon be offering their Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera a contract extension to continue serving at the club.
According to reports from Sport, the Old Trafford outfit will try to retain the player, after successfully pushing away interest from Catalan giants Barcelona.
After winning Manchester United’s Player of the Season award despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba’s contributions to the team, most consider it to be more than enough reason to hold on to the midfielder at the club.

Herrera’s constant top-level performances at the club did not go unnoticed by the fans, who heralded his attempts to put some energy into the midfield. He became a fan favorite as soon as he arrived in England, and has remained so ever since.
The 27-year-old has never been shy about speaking of his love for his fellow teammates and the club, often expressing his happiness of playing at the club through his social media accounts.
Passion and happiness towards a club, which is very uncommon these days, has been well accepted and appreciated not just by the United fans, but by the rival supporters too.
After club legend Wayne Rooney’s recent departure to Everton, the Spanish international made a heartfelt note on his social media profile expressing his gratitude for the Englishman.

Herrera tweeted: “One day I will be able to tell my grandkids I played with you. All the best and thank you @WayneRooney #FarewellToALegend”.
Fans and pundits strongly believe that Herrera might be made the next vice-captain for the side after Wazza’s departure, and perhaps a future captain once Michael Carrick leaves the Red Devils as well.
The ex-Bilbao player’s serious contributions, along with fan involvement, would make it a no-brainer for Manchester United to set a new extended contract on the table.
