Nemanja Matic will be right with Diego Costa, as both players will not be a part of Chelsea’s pre-season tour to Asia.

The pre-season tour, which goes to China and Singapore, does not include Nemanja Matic’s name, which could possibly mean that manager Antonio Conte does not see the midfielder as a part of the squad for the upcoming season.

This has been quite clearly indicated in the team training at London this week, as the player was notably training alone, and was not a part of the team sessions in the training grounds.

Matic has been attracting heavy interest from several clubs across Europe since his indications of moving became prominent.

Manchester United were estimated to be the frontrunners in the race for his services, but Chelsea are completely blocking the move for two reasons: Firstly, they do not want to sell to a rival club, and second being the fact that United snatching Lukaku from right under their noses has not sat down well at Stamford Bridge.

Outside England, the Serbian defensive midfielder has been linked with Juventus, who attempted to sign him last season. A move to Turin would go well with both Conte as well as the player. And with Juve selling their star player Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan, they now possess enough funds to make a smart move for the 28-year-old.

It was earlier understood that Chelsea were unwilling to let go of Matic until the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko was complete, but now, he’s being allowed to push for a move.

An exit for Matic may mean the Blues would have to now search for two new midfield players, especially as Bakayoko does not seem to be match fit for the first few games of the season.
