Manchester United have turned their attention towards Arturo Vidal in their hunt for a midfield reinforcement.

The Bayern Munich man has been linked with a move to Old Trafford on several occasions in the past, but no move materialized, as the likes of Juventus and Bayern ended up successfully winning the respective races for his services. However, the links have now resurfaced, following United’s failed pursuit of a number of other targets.

Nemanja Matic to Man United has been the main story for a majority of the summer. The Chelsea star has been keen on a move away from Stamford Bridge following the incredible campaign that N’Golo Kante had last season, and the arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer.

Blues owner Roman Abramovich is said to have given the thumbs up to Matic leaving the club in honor of his achievements with them, but so far, no agreement has been reached. This could probably be down to the fact that United stole Romelu Lukaku from right under Chelsea’s noses this summer.

United also tracked Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield anchor Eric Dier, and were said to be very keen on bringing the Englishman in, but Spurs are refusing to budge. The 23-year-old was initially valued at £50 million, but the Lilywhites have declared that he is by no means up for sale at any price whatsoever.

With these sagas still being delayed, it appears that United have now looked towards Vidal once more. The 30-year-old has two years left on his contract with Bayern, and is believed to be open to a move to the Theatre Of Dreams.

According to StarSport, the Chilean is on Mourinho’s radar, and would cost United a fee in the region of £30 million.

Inter Milan have also shown an interest in bringing the star to the San Siro, and will have to go head-to-head with United in a battle for his signature.
