Paris Saint-Germain Demand Anthony Martial In Marco Verratti Deal

PSG have complicated Marco Verratti’s proposed transfer to Manchester United by asking for Anthony Martial in a swap deal, reports Mirror.

Manchester United have emerged as new favorites to sign Marco Verratti, but Paris Saint-Germain’s latest demands have halted the progress. The French club has asked the English giants for out-of-favor Anthony Martial in return.

Although Jose Mourinho doesn’t seem to have Martial in his plans, the Portuguese can’t afford to sell the player at a cut-price, as it might upset the fans and hierarchy of the club.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils had grown increasingly confident in their £60 million pursuit of the Italian midfielder over the last few days.

The biggest help came from the fact that Verratti fired his agent to hire Mino Raiola, who is supposed to be on great terms with Jose Mourinho and Manchester United. Raiola has clients like Mkhitaryan, Ibrahimovic, Pogba, and Lukaku, who have successfully made a switch to the Old Trafford giants since last summer.

The fact that the Red Devils are unwilling to make Martial a part of the deal can prove to be a deal breaker.

Earlier, Mourinho was forced to shift his focus onto Verratti as Chelsea played hardball over Matic’s transfer to Old Trafford. Blues’ boss Antonio Conte doesn’t want to do business with Jose Mourinho, as the Italian feels that his Portuguese counterpart used Lukaku’s agent to snatch the Belgian away from Chelsea’s grasp.

Mourinho has made it clear that he wants to sign two more players in this transfer window, and a midfielder is certainly one of the two. Tottenham’s Eric Dier is also linked with a move to Manchester United – the club he supported while growing up.
