Neymar To Be Unveiled As A PSG Player This Week
Barcelona superstar Neymar Jr. will be announced as a PSG player by Wednesday, reports RMC Sport chief editor Mohamed Bouhafsi.
Neymar’s future had been under constant speculation ever since the news of French giants Paris Saint-Germain’s interests became public. PSG have been adamant on bringing the Brazilian to the French capital, and are even ready to trigger his release clause worth €220 million.
The 25-year-old is a wanted man among Europe’s elite, having scored 20 goals and provided 19 assists in all competitions last season. The talented wide-man was one of the best players for the Catalan club going forward, and played a vital role in their 6-5 (aggregate) comeback against the Ligue 1 side in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, a recent training ground dispute between Neymar and new signing Nelson Semedo saw the former Santos winger storm off the pitch in clear aggression. It might still be too early to decide if that was an indication of what is to come, but following recent news, it certainly looks like it.
However, the Parisian outfit was reportedly attempting to bypass Financial Fair Play through some creative routes. This would have slowed down or even halted their transfer plans for the summer, which would have been a nightmare for boss Unai Emery.
Regardless, latest reports insist the Barcelona winger’s arrival at the Parc des Princes is imminent, and it could happen as soon as Wednesday. A medical will be held before the official announcement is done.
Neymar is currently tied down to a contract with the La Liga giants till 2021, with a release clause worth €222m, which could soon turn out to be the new world transfer record fee.
