Reports: Neymar Agreed To Join Manchester United

Neymar could have been a Manchester United player last summer, had he not changed his mind at the last minute.

The Brazilian is on his way out of the Nou Camp after informing the club’s officials of his desire to secure a move away from the club this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to be his next destination, and the French giants are said to be preparing a jaw dropping world record £198 million bid to secure his services.

Barcelona confirmed that Neymar has said his goodbyes to the squad, and Lionel Messi posted an emotional video on his Instagram page as a tribute to the memories they have shared in the few years they have played alongside each other.

The Brazilian is now set to join his former teammate Dani Alves in the French capital, but the story could have been very different had the winger not changed his mind.

Manchester United have repeatedly been linked with every player from Europe’s top teams, and when the Neymar rumor took its usual rounds, it was merely dismissed as the press spinning the wheel of names on who should be linked with a move to Old Trafford.

However, it appears there was more truth to those reports than initially assumed.

The 25-year-old would have been Jose Mourinho’s marquee signing in his first season at the club, and the player did seriously explore the possibility of a move away from the Catalan club, but ended up deciding to stay for another year.

Mourinho has also been very keen on bringing in a new winger, with the likes of Gareth Bale and Ivan Perisic being touted as favourites to make a move to the Theatre of Dreams.

Had Barca not been demanding such a massive price tag, it is hard to believe that United wouldn’t have made an attempt to sign the superstar.
